National Centre of Excellence in Desalination Australia (NCEDA) www.desalination.edu.au NCEDA leads and coordinates Australia's research in desalination technology. Through NCEDA, Australia is building national capacity and capabilities in desalination, with a dual focus on breakthrough fundamental research and applied research, with a goal of delivering meaningful improvements at a commercial scale. Australian Water Recycling Centre of Excellence www.australianwaterrecycling.com.au/coe The Australian Water Recycling Centre of Excellence aims to enhance the management and use of water recycling nationally and internationally through industry and research partnerships. Through its nationally competitive research projects, the centre aims to produce and commercialise new water recycling technologies, processes and approaches to enable the sustainable management of our water supply, while at the same time building awareness and understanding in the community. Smart Water Fund www.smartwater.com.au The Smart Water Fund is an initiative of the Victorian Water Industry and the Victorian Government. The five funding partners are City West Water, Melbourne Water, South East Water, Yarra Valley Water and the Department of Sustainability and Environment. Established in 2002, the Smart Water Fund invests in water industry-led research and innovation in urban water management. The Wentworth Group www.wentworthgroup.org The Wentworth Group of Concerned Scientists is an independent group comprising leading Australian scientists, economists and business people with conservation interests. The Group aims to drive innovation in the management of Australia's land and water resources; engage business, community and political leaders in a dialogue to find and implement solutions; and build capacity by mentoring and supporting young scientists, lawyers and economists to develop their skills and understanding of public policy. Water Quality Research Australia (WQRA) www.wqra.com.au WQRA is a not-for-profit company, established to undertake collaborative research of national application on drinking water quality, recycled water and relevant areas of wastewater management. Its primary aims are to coordinate and manage a structured program of collaborative research in water quality and to ensure that the knowledge generated is transferred to industry. Industry Associations/Peak Bodies Australian Hydrographers' Association www.aha.net.au The Australian Hydrographers' Association is a not-for-profit organisation with a membership spanning Australia, New Zealand, Asia and Europe.
