ASL was established in 1961, and has a membership consisting of scientists, managers, engineers, teachers and tertiary level students from all states and territories. Irrigation Australia www.irrigation.org.au Irrigation Australia is Australia's leading organisation representing the breadth of the Australian irrigation industry. It has members covering all sectors of the industry, from water users, consultants, designers and installers through to educational institutions, government bodies, manufacturers and retailers. NSW Water Directorate www.waterdirectorate.asn.au The Water Directorate provides focused technical information to its members. It aims to provide an independent source of advice to councils on water and sewerage operations. Membership of the Water Directorate is open to all councils and county councils providing water supply and/or sewerage services to local government areas in NSW. Queensland Water Directorate (Qldwater) www.qldwater.com.au Qldwater is the central advisory and advocacy body within Queensland's urban water industry. It aims to strengthen the urban water industry to maintain and improve the safety, health, wellbeing and sustainability of Queensland's communities. Stormwater Industry Association (SIA) www.stormwater.asn.au SIA links the diverse and multi-disciplinary interests of all Australian stakeholders of the stormwater industry and represents them at national forums. SIA promotes innovative and sustainable practice technologies, standards and policies that minimise adverse environmental, social and economic impacts. Victorian Water Industry Association (VicWater) www.vicwater.org.au VicWater is the peak industry association for water businesses in Victoria and contributes to and influences the development and implementation of government policies relating to water and wastewater services within Victoria. Waste Management Association of Australia (WMAA) www.wmaa.asn.au WMAA is Australia's peak association for waste management professionals. The Association has a network of state branches, national divisions and special interest groups that provide the opportunity for networking, communication and involvement in projects aimed to encourage sustainable waste management. Water Industry Operators Association of Australia (WIOA) www.wioa.org.au WIOA is an incorporated national association with a primary role of facilitating the collection, development and exchange of quality information between people undertaking operational roles in the whole, or part operation and maintenance of any facet of the water industry. Water Services Association of Australia (WSAA) www.wsaa.asn.au WSAA is the industry body that supports the Australian urban water industry. The Association facilitates collaboration, knowledge sharing, networking and cooperation within the urban water industry.
